Catch Up...
Last night there was some issue with the internet so I was unable to post an entry in the blog. So today's will cover yesterday and today.
Yesterday (September 28, 2007)
Friday started out a bit cloudy and it didn't look as though anything was going to happen for sunrise so I decided that a trip down RT89 through the Snake River Canyon would be the best bet.
After driving down the canyon I decided to return to Jackson through Idaho. It was a great choice because the canyon and the Palisades area of Idaho and the Swan Valley were beautiful. The Sugar Maples were glowing a firery red and most of the Aspens were turning yellow. Although in Idaho many of the Aspens had not even started to change.

Saturday was a long day. When I woke up it was raining pretty heavily which kinda took sunrise out the mix. But it soon stopped however, the clouds remained. I went into the park and shot some aspen shots. The cloud cover helped bring out the colors. Then I spent the largest part of the day in search for wildlife but there wasn't any luck there.
Way up the in the mountains on the north east side of the park at Two Ocean Lake I walked along the lake to shoot some images of a strange looking bread of duck. The shots turned out to be nothing great becase of their distance. As I was walking back to my truck something caught my eye along the lake shore.
What I saw was the largest grizzley print I have ever seen. It really took me off gaurd because it was really big and I had not really been thinking of bears. One of the prints was partly filled with water so I was a little relieved becuase that ment it had been there since at least befor this mornings rain. But I didn't really stick around any longer.
Tonight I was cruising around looking for a spot to photograph the ever changing clouds at sunset and didn't really have any luck. The sunset kinda fizzled out. But on my way back to the Oxbow area something again caught my eye as it flew through the air. It appered to be an owl. So I quickly turned around and went back to find a Great Horned Owl. It was getting dark fast but I was able to get some shots off.

The BW cabin is fantastic. And the blurred three aspen is also great. Nice shots.
I hope one of those owls flogs you one of these days. You know next year we won't be able to buy and owl, LOL.
