Big Sky Country
Montana...Big Sky Country
One of the things about Montana that I have always loved is the huge wide-open spaces and even larger skies.
Today I went out on the county roads (dirt) and l looked for interesting landscapes to shoot. At one point I saw a fox but he went into some brush. I parked the truck and got out to see if I could wait him out until he reappeared. That didn't work but it wasn't all a loss.
I stood there and took it all in. In any direction I could see as far as the horizon would allow. And it was absolutely silent with the exception of the occasional soft sounds of the breeze through the freshly cut wheat stalks.
It was a few moments that allowed me to be completely connected with the environment around me and at the same time feel the enormity of the work in which I live.
Today’s images were taken from nearly the same spot and of basically the same subject. Each was treated a bit differently. I am not sure which one I liked better so I posted them both.

I now think Hawaii is Big Sky Country!!
I bet it is Nick!
When you have thousands of miles in any direction of ocean and you can get up above sea level must be very cool to shoot.
One day we'll get there!
Hi Brian,
I didn't know you had a blog now. Lots and lots to like here, and Montana seems like a nice country.
It's an interesting, muted palette that you use so often.
I'll be back :)
