Ah The Pressure!
Nikon D2x ISO 400 1/125th @ f6.3
Weddings are probably the one subject that totally freaks me out. I think that it has a lot to do with the fact that like shooting fire scenes you get one chance to get the shot. The big difference is that after a fire there isn't one angry young lady looking for you if you didn't get the shot.
I have shot several weddings as the primary photographer. And I have shot images at several other weddings where I was only an attendee. I have found that the images from those weddings are of a much higher quality than those where I was the main photographer.
I am sure this has a lot to do with self induced pressure as well as that of really wanting to do a good job. The images that I shot 'for fun' I think turned out to be my favorites. This is probably beceause there was no pressure and I was able to relax and become more comfortable and in turn more creative.
The trick is to get over these unneccessary self induced road blocks and shoot in a relaxed comfortable state of mind.

I have felt so much pressure to not screw up at the weddings I have done, that they were just plain no fun. I guess like lots of things, they take practice.
