Arizona Monsoon...
Hi everyone-
So I have decided to add an additional post each week for the Skywatch Friday post. Since I have to post it on Thursday I will do two posts for Thursday. The normal morning post and then the mid day Skywatch Friday post. Then on Friday proper there will be another regular morning post. Hope that makes sense.
This image was shot after hiking out of the Grand Canyon in flash flood conditions several years ago. We had decided to hike out from Havalupai and Havasu Falls and shortly after we set out the rains came. And they didn't stop.
W hiked in ankle or knee deep water for some time as waterfalls formed on the canyon walls before our eyes. We were a bit concerned when about half way a local came by on a horse urging us to get to higher ground. Since we were in a canyon we had little choice but to continue our trek out.
Obviously we made it but it was a bit harrowing. This image was shot top side of the storms moving across the desert.

Wow, fabulous, wonderful stunning and dramatic :-)
Did you expect it to make sense "B"? Now I am more confused than ever, LOL. That is a great shot I don't know if I have ever seen this one before. Dr. is not letting me come back this tour, so be safe with Wil.

INCREDIBLE photo! Absolutely fabulous. I'm jealous you've been to Havisu Falls. I've only seen pictures, and it's probably my #1 place to visit. Been to the Canyon a couple of times, but never down inside.

Wow! What an amazing capture!! I love skies just like that!
The photo was worth the fear and discomfort (to us!). Thanks for a great shot. Did you do much Photoshop work on it?
Wow, what an absolutely spectacular photograph! Amazing.
This is a very special SWF, dynamic clouds and a beuatifuk image
Sorry, one more time.
There is a firefighter-post in my blog, SWF #7, may be yuo'll like it
Hi everyone-
Thanks so much for checking out my SWF post. I am really glad you all enjoyed it.
The image was shot on Fuji Velvia slide film. I set up the tripod in the road and shot image after image of up to 30 seconds a piece. Eventually I got this one and only lightning shot out of two or three rolls.
I really didn't do a lot of photoshop work to it mostly just cropping. The original image had a bit more of the sky above me in it. It lightened up quite a bit there. I am still not sure which version I like better.
Thanks again for checking out my posts and blog.
