Beartooth Evening
Nikon N80 ISO 50 F22 shutter speed not recorded. Fuji Velvia Slide Film.
Not only has this image remained one of my favorite images it is one of my most popular ones as well.
This image was shot while on a trip in 2003 in the Beartooth Wilderness which is northeast of Yellowstone on the Montana Wyoming border.
The Beartooth is one of the most beautiful places in America. It is not a National Park but is it a protected wilderness. However there are threats to the Beartooth eco system being battled over as I type this.
I love this image so much because of it's great color and total serenity. Just looking at it calms me almost instantly. It immediately brings me back to the warm and still summer evening when it was shot. It was quiet and peaceful. There was no one else around with the exception of my wife and I. It was an awesome sight to take in.
I have returned to this spot every year since and it has never looked as beautiful as on this Beartooth Evening...

This is a masterpiece. It is a technical tour de force. You have managed to hold together every element... This goes beyond being a moving image. It is a credential.
Thanks Brian
