A Breath of Fresh Air...
Nikon D70, ISO 200, 1 sec @ f4.5, Nikkor 18-70 @ 55mm, Manfrotto tripod
I shot this image of every one's favorite York City firefighter Tim Bair taking a quick break while battling a small but smokey fire at the New York Wire plant.
I like this image for a few reasons. First is that it's not your ordinary fire scene shot. It's taking a lull in the action and creating an opportunity for a cool environmental portrait.
The second reason I like it is because there is a lot of repetition in the image. The bricks, the name, the bars, the stripes, the concrete all repeat each other in the image.
And the 'third' reason is because there is a lot of rule of thirds in a variety of ways. The position of the door, the position of Tim in the door, the name, the concrete strip etc. etc.
Feel free to give me your thoughts...
I almost forgot. I am in the middle of a big update with lots of new images at my portfolio website. The address is www.brianbastinelli.com
I will be completing the update over the next few days. There are already a few new galleries and a bunch of new images.
Check it out and please feel free to let me know what you think. Thanks!!
