Firery Elk...
2007-10-27
Nikon D2xISO 640 f6 @ 1/25th sec. Nikkor 80-400 VR lens @ 280mm Manfrotto Tripod
This image was shot along the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park. It was shot in the meadows just south of 7 mile bridge.
I called it Firery Elk not only because of the deep orange glow of the reflected sunset but because of this elks demeanor.
He was worked up in the midst of the rut and would run anything and everything off that came in a bit to close to his ladies.
