Smokey Evening Skies...
2008-11-13
Hi everyone-
Happy Skywatch. This image was taken in the summer of 07 outside of Choteau, Montana. There was a wildfire burning about 20 miles away and ,most of the color in the sky was from the smoke drifting to the east.
Obviously its an HDR image but Its fun to create things that are surreal now and then.
Have a great day!

Beautiful. It's amazing that something as tragic as a large fire can create such a beautiful sky.
Very nice. I need to learn more about HDR imaging, that's for sure. Happy Sky Watch!
Wow - gorgeous. Very nicely done. (I'm so glad you said "obviously it's HDR" because otherwise I'd have had to ask).
This is wonderful. A work of art. :)
WOW...Great Photo!
It's fun indeed. This one's very nicely done. Love the post processing.
What an amazing spin on old & run down!!! GREAT SKY GREAT COLOR & GREAT SKY WATCH SHOT!!!
I'm picky about HDR, too far and too often I start wondering what else someone can do but THIS is wonderful. And I love the work with the green door.
Really gorgeous! I lived in Montana for a number of years and watched the skies changed by forest fires. The fires are tragic and it is amazing that they can help create such beautiful images of the sky.
awesome treatment here, brian!
Mine's HERE! Thank you for your comments!
Wonderful shot and so what if it's a little creative, still looks great
Brian, that is a stunning photo and I love the shot of the Bighorn as well. It looks like I need to visit Glacier.
Superb colours. Great shot.
