#437 Trail Of The Cedars...

2009-03-17

Hi everyeone-

I thought I would do a landscape shot for today since it has been a little while since I've posted one.

This was shot along the Trail of The Cedars in Glacier National Park, Montana. It is a cool area where the moisture content is right to create lush rain forest like conditions in of all places the Rocky Mountains. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a rain forest but you can see by the types of plants that grow here the moisture content is quite high.

The trail is a nice quite place to walk and it leads you to the Avalanche Creek area which is another amazing sight to behold. As you walk back the trail which is a raised boardwalk you are enveloped by the lushness of this area. The light is low because of the dense forest canopy and the sound a bit more subdued because of the lush plant life.

Its and easy flat walk that anyone can do. Very much worth the time.

These two images were shot at the same location this past fall. I sometimes find forest images to be a bit busy so I wanted to experiment a bit with the treatment to see if it made any difference in the image. I'd love to hear what you think.

Have a great day!

Nice shot Brian!

I like the color one best. To me the color helps distinguish the different elements of the scene better than the monotone one.

Cheers!
